Scripture Luke 41:

And he went on, ‘I tell you solemnly, no prophet is ever accepted in his own country.'

Observation

It's easy to dismiss those who are familiar to us - how can they be better or no more, especially hard to accept growth in others if you knew them when they were young.

Application

Who's wisdom do I reject because I don't believe that they might know more now than they did when they were younger or just starting to learn about something. If the people Jesus grew up with would not listen to Him, who am I not listening to?

Prayer

Lord grant me the wisdom to learn from others, especially those I might be tempted to dismiss because they are young, or I think I must know better than.
