Scripture Mark 4:41

They were filled with awe and said to one another, 'Who can this be? Even the wind and the sea obey him.'

Observation

The wind and the sea represent the primordial chaos in Genesis 1, over which God sends forth a wind at the start of creation. Only God can control these waters, calm them and bring order to them. Here Jesus exercises this same control over the waters.

Application

I cannot control the chaos in my life, but if I trust God he can bring order to it. All I need is enough faith.

Prayer

Jesus, help me to trust you. Help me to trust that you have a plan for my life and that if I cooperate with you you will calm the chaos and bring order to it. Amen.
